But as competition is getting a bit bigger, you may need some ways to distinguish yourself from the rest of the affiliate marketers. For the major reason that many of your competitors including you are promoting the exact same program, in the exact same zone or on the exact same websites perhaps.  Now here are some tips that you may consider in order for you to stay in this business and have the chance to outwit and outplay other competitors of yours.
 
The first thing is for you to have your own website. It is very essential for you to have your own website in considering affiliate marketing as your professional career. Secondly, potential customers primarily go to websites in order for them to search and sometimes purchase items they were looking for. For the same reason that it is much easier to remember than a certain URL that you may be using and you can just point to your visitors the affiliate page in your website.

The fourth step is to build a strong relationship with people who already buy your product. Now, in order for you as the marketer to fully answer the query of your potential customers, it is best to try and buy the product by yourself. With this particular notion, you can better sell the product that you are trying to market. You can share to your potential customers what a great experience you had with the product, and this can make them interested enough to buy the product. You may also be able to provide a support if necessary or you may provide a confident tutorial or steps on how to use the product that you are trying to market based on your personal experience. Entailing this idea is to be totally honest about the product that you are trying to market. If you find out that the program you were promoting is a scam, stop promoting it and inform your readers about it. This will help you build credibility with your lists.

We all make mistakes and admitting your mistake will boost your reader’s confidence in you. Lastly, don’t try to market everything you see. Why Affiliate Marketing?

Well, simply because affiliate marketing is the easiest and probably the best way to earn profits online, unless otherwise you are a businessman and would rather sell your own products online than advertise other businessman’s products on your site.  But even online retailers can benefit from affiliate marketing programs, because affiliate marketing actually works for merchants as well as it works for the affiliates.

Affiliate marketing, simply said, is a relationship or agreement made between two websites, with one site being the merchant’s website and the other being the affiliate’s site.  In the relationship, the affiliate agrees to let the merchant advertise his products on the affiliate’s site.  The merchant, on the other hand, would agree to pay the affiliate in whatever method they have agreed into.  This would generally mean easy income for the affiliate, as he would do nothing but place the retailer’s ad on his site.  This would also be very beneficial for the merchant, as getting affiliates to advertise their products would be a lot more affordable than hiring an advertising firm to promote their products.

There are a variety of methods on how the merchant would compensate the affiliate for his services, and for the webmaster, these methods simply translates to the method by which he would earn easy cash.  Among the more common methods of compensation are the pay-per-click method, the pay-per-lead method, and the pay-per-sale method.  The pay-per-click method is the method most preferred by affiliates, for their site’s visitor would only have to visit the advertiser’s site for them to gain money.  The other two methods, on the other hand, are better preferred by merchants, as they would only have to compensate you if your visitor becomes one of their registrants or if the visitor would actually buy their products.

Getting much profit on affiliate marketing programs, however, does not depend so much on the compensation method is it does on the traffic generated by your site.  A website that can attract more visitors would generally have the greater chance of profiting in affiliate marketing programs.

What about Google Adsense?

Google Adsense is actually some sort of an affiliate marketing program.  In Google Adsense, Google act as the intermediary between the affiliates and the merchants.  The merchant, or the advertiser, would simply sign up with Google and provide the latter with text ads pertaining to their products.  These ads, which is actually a link to the advertiser’s website, would then appear on Google searches as well as on the websites owned by the affiliates, or by those webmasters who have signed up with the Google Adsense program.

While one can find a lot of similarities between Google Adsense and other affiliate marketing programs, you can also see a lot of differences.  In Google Adsense, all the webmaster has to do is place a code on his website and Google takes care of the rest.  The ads that Google would place on your site would generally be relevant to the content of your site.  This would be advantageous both for you and for the advertiser, as the visitors of your site would more or less be actually interested with the products being advertised.

The Google Adsense program compensates the affiliate in a pay-per-click basis.  The advertisers would pay Google a certain amount each time their ad on your site is clicked and Google would then forward this amount to you through checks, although only after Google have deducted their share of the amount.  Google Adsense checks are usually delivered monthly.  Also, the Google Adsense program provides webmasters with a tracking tool that allows you to monitor the earnings you actually get from a certain ad.

So, where do all of these lead us to?

Where else but to profits, profits and even more profits!  Affiliate marketing programs and the Google Adsense program simply work, whether you are the merchant or the affiliate.  For the merchant’s side, a lot of money can be saved if advertising effort is concentrated on affiliate marketing rather than on dealing with advertising firms.  For the webmaster, you can easily gain a lot of profits just by doing what you do best, and that is by creating websites.  And if you combine all your profits from both the Google Adsense program and other affiliate marketing programs, it would surely convert to a large amount of cash.

There is much speculation about how much money you can earn online without your own product. Marketing your own digital product on the Internet can be very lucrative but there is no reason why you can’t profit a great deal by using creative methods that offer real value to Internet surfers and have your own product as well.

An affiliate program is really not as difficult to set up as you may think. Thanks to the high demand for affiliate systems recently, there are now lots of ways to set up your own program.

Here’s what you need to set one up:

1. A web site with your own domain name.

2. At least one product or service that you own completely.

3. A system to handle commission tracking and payment.
That sounds pretty easy, doesn’t it? Well, actually it is! And it’s getting easier all the time.

The first two items listed above are self-explanatory. Of course, you need your own website and your own product or service. You can’t very well set up an associate program if you don’t own the site or the product(s) you will be promoting. If you have not taken these two steps, you’ll need to do them first. How to Make Money Online…or Offline!

Cool! I just made a sale on the internet! Or, better yet, WOW! I just sold some product to one of my customers at work!

Question: Did you make a profit when you did it?

Many people seem to hop from one thing from another when it comes to sales and making money. Take a real estate agent for example. Many of them get into the business, begin prospecting, and then finally get their first sale. TaaaDaaaa! They made some money. Then they change what they did to get that sale and go off and start doing something else. Why?

Some would call it boredom, others would call it laziness, still others would say they have ADD. The fact is, many more people could be making a lot more money online or offline if they would keep one formula in mind. The formula? Once you find a successful system, idea, or practice that produces you a profit, all you have to do is duplicate it over and over again and the profits will continue to roll in.

So why aren’t more people making more money?

Well, it’s kind of like marriage. It’s new and exciting at first, but, over time, it turns into work. It’s repetitive, it can be boring, and there will always be a problem here and there. That’s why so many people fail in marriage and in business.

Because what was once new and fresh and exciting eventually turns into work. And there’s the problem a lot of people have: they can’t stand repetition and boredom. But, that’s why they call it work isn’t it? So, what can you do about it?

This will sound simple, but, in practice, it’s not. Again, it takes a little work.

Either find a way to be enthusiastic every day about what you are doing(the “work” part that produces a profit), or find something you love to do and start doing that. Either way, you’ll enjoy a lot more success in life and in business. When you get up every day, you have to find a way to look forward to the “work”, to be excited about “the work”.

If you can do this one thing, success and huge profits, will beat a path to your door.

Affiliate Products – Secrets to Selling Them and Making Money Online

Anyone can spend $100’s of dollars every day on pay per click ads and get a few sales.  The question is:  Can I spend LESS than I am earning in sales?

This is the burning question right now in internet marketing among affiliate marketers.  With the maturation of the pay per click marketing scheme, how do I spend less and make more?

The answer is rather surprising…  Don’t spend anything on PPC ads.

What?

You can use free methods to get nearly the same results.  However, you’ll have to put in some time to make money online.  Free marketing methods include signature lines, emails, and articles.  They also include Suidoo lenses, facebook pages, and bookmarks.  in fact, Social Marketing is the topic of one of my other articles and is rapidly growing.

Free methods of making money on the internet DO require more work.  BUT, once you get used to doing the free methods and you make them a part of your daily routine, you can get them done in just a few hours a day.

Take article marketing, for example.  A lot of people wipe thier noses and say “I don’t want or can’t write articles”.  Okay, that’s fine.  But you have just lost one of the most valuable resources and free tools for getting your links out there.  LEARN to write.  Learn to write fast.  Learn to put out 4 or 5 articles of 400 words per hour.

If you sit down and start doing it, then you can do it.  The great thing about articles is that they have staying power and long after you have written them, they will still produce clickthrus for you.

Your sig line in emails and in forums.  Absolutely free.  AND another great sourch of free backlinks and clicks.  If you are not posting for about 30 minutes a day on a forum, you need to start.

Set up a facebook page and then start fo “friend” a few people.  Make sure your links are clearly visible on your page.  Once you have around 200 friends on facebook, the viral nature takes hold and you start getting more every day.  These people’s friends then will start “friending” you and so on and so on.

Set up a Squidoo page at Squidoo.com.  Be sure and put a link to your facebook page.  Then, use Digg and Delicious to bookmark your pages.  In fact, there are about 50 “social bookmarking” sites out there.  These sites allow others to see what has been bookmarked the most.  Then they can check them out and bookmark them, too.

Again, the magic number seems to be somewhere around 200 bookmarks before the viral nature starts taking effect.  Try it – you’ll like it.

Free is VERY good if you have been spending tons of money on pay per click.  It does take some work and time at first, but, over time, you get used to putting in a couple of hours per day and you will begin reaping the rewards sooner than you’d think.

How the “Gurus” Make Money Online

You see these types of claims all over the place online. People tell you to buy their product and soon you’ll be stuffing your bank account with cash, buying new cars, and buying new houses. Is it possible? Yes — BUT “Warning Will Robinson!” Most of these products are designed to stuff their pockets, not yours.

Anyone who is willing to do some work can make money online. Very few of the offered products will do it for you. Some of the tools are useful and there are a few shortcuts here and there, but, all in all, it does take some work to make money on the internet.

Here’s the real “Guru” secret of making money on the internet: You have to have an audience.

An audience? Yes. A group of people who want to hear what you have to say. Having an audience is the cornerstone of any company, any sales pitch or any successful product sales. There are a many “built in” audiences on the internet. You can access these groups of people through forums, through email, even through pay per click ads.

But – the BEST audience is a “captive” audience. A group of people you can talk directly to. What I am referring to is email. Having a list of people who have decided to let you send them emails and given you permission to do so is the very best audience you can possibly have to make money online.

How do you get them to give you permission? Easy. Offer people something very valuable for Free. Let them know they can have the freebie as long as they will give you permission to send them email.

When they give you their email, they do it through an “autoresponder” sign up form or subscribe form. Then they have to click a “confirmation” link in their email acknowledging that they give you permission to send them more email. This is called “double opt-in” because the prospect has told you once when they signed up on the form that they wanted your email, and then TWICE when they clicked on the confirmation link in the confirmation email.

Now, your prospect can receive your PRE-PLANNED emails over time.

using this approach, many “Guru’s” have earned hundreds of thousands, and even millions on the internet.

In principal, this sounds easy. In reality, it takes some thinking and a little work. If you can master it – you will have the keys to the kingdom and be able to make all the money online you ever dreamed of.

How to make Money Fast Online – Free!

Everyone is always searching for the latest and greatest way to make money online and make money on the internet.

Believe it or not, it’s not as hard as you have been led to believe. I am going to give you one of the best online marketing methods that will result in sales of any affiliate product you decide to market.

But wait! There ARE a few things to be aware of and check out first BEFORE you decide to market a product.

You can make money on the internet but you have to make sure that the prodcut you want to sell has demand. If there is no demand for the product, you can promote it till the cows come home and you won’t make any sales. Be sure that other affiliate marketers are making money selling the product online before you start marketing it. Make sure that YOU think the sales page is good. In fact, make sure YOU would buy the product.

If you won’t buy it, chances are that no one else will either.

So – you have a product picked out and you are ready to rock and roll. What to do now?

Simple – get traffic to click your affiliate link, right? Ahhh – there’s the rub. “How in the heck do I do that?”

Using forums – that’s how.

There are millions of forums on the internet dedicated to whatever topic you can think of. Almost all of them allow you to set up a signature line where you can put a link in. The link, in many cases, can be an affiliate link straight to the sales page.

Let’s say you wanted to promote and sell a “Pillsberry Doughboy Doll”. Find a seller of the doll that will pay you a commission, get an affiliate link to the product, then find a forum for “Pillsberry Doughboy” (you’d be surprised) and set up an account on the forum. Set up your signature file with your affiliate link to the doll.

Now all you have to do is log on daily and post questions and comments and join in the general discussion about Dougboy dolls. Every comment you make and every question you ask posts your affiliate link in the forum.

One word of warning – putting up junk posts or just telling people to click your sig link can result in you being banned from many forums. It’s best to actually participate in the online discussions.

After a few days of posting, you will begin to see clickthroughs to your affiliate page. After a few weeks, you’ll see sales.

There are 1,000’s of sites touting the latest greatest method or tool to dominate the Internet Marketing and sales game to make money on the internet. What’s the real scoop?

Is it possible to find the Best Way to Make Money on the Internet? In short – yes. In reality – there’s a longer answer to making money online. The good news is that it can be summed up in three short steps and here they are:

1) Offer something free for people to give you their name and email address.

2) Capture the name and email with an opt-in form to an autoresponder.

3) Mail to your subscribers with more free content and an occasional offer.

Really, truly – this is how it’s done. There are no secrets. This is the very best and easiest way to make money on the internet. I know because I have done it over and over again with different products.

The formula for the emails you send to your subscribers is simple as well: 3 emails with excellent free content and then a hard hitting sales letter, then 3 content pieces, then a sales letter. You just keep doing that over and over and you will get sales. Of course, within this simple 3 step system, there are literally hundreds of tweaks and variables.

The optin page where you offer your freebie has to be pretty good. The freebie has to be exactly what the prospect is looking for. Your signup rate should be 20% or higher of the people that visit the page. The sales page where you make your offfer also has to be good. Many people hire a copywriter to write and build this page for them.

The product has to be something that solves a problem that people have. Or – it can answer a burning question. Either way, the product must have a demand. There are literally hundreds of products that pay commission and anyone can market.

Promoting Affiliate Programs – Tracking Codes

Affiliate product marketing produces a very good income for some marketers. For others, however, all it produces is a lot of work and expense with no results.

Why can one affiliate marketer drive off into the sunset in a Porsch while the other has to max out his or her credit card running ads and putting up sites?

The answer is simple: Tracking codes

Tracking codes on every page, site, article and ad tell you which promotions are producing results and which ones are not. Without them, it’s like shooting in the dark – if you shoot enough times you will eventually hit something but you have no idea which shot did the hitting.

I am going to break this down into three areas: Pay-per-click, SEO, and Article Marketing

Pay-per-Click(PPC)

While the most effective form of marketing, it’s also the most expensive. PPC can either make you a lot of money or lose you a ton. It all depends on which keywords and ads work. Without Tracking Codes, there’s no way to tell.

Each ad must be tied to a tracking code and each keyword must be tied to a tracking code. At the end of this article, I’ll give you some simple copy and paste code that can do this for you.

If an ad is working but only for 2 keywords, then you can eliminate all the others and make your campagin that much more profitable. If you are getting sales on 3 different keywords but only on 1 ad variation, then just use that ad.

The whole idea is to “optimize” your keywords and your ads for that one particular product until you have narrowed down which ad and keywords are making you money.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

Some affiliate marketers will spend months getting their site up in the search engine rankings. It would be a shame to have all that effort go to waste. The only way to make sure there is a payoff once the site gets ranked is to use a tracking code on each page of the site.

If there are affiliate products on the site, you have got to know which pages are producing income and which ones are not. This little piece of information will tell you which pages to redesign or which products to switch out for others.

Here’s an old affiliate marketer saying for you – “Optimize, optimize, optimize”

Article Marketing

The same thing applies here: if you know which articles are working to generate traffic and sales, thenyou can go back and study those articles and write more of the same type. Or, if an article about a certain product produces a lot of sales, you can write more articles on that products subject.

Again, the whole secret of affiliate marketing is knowing where the sale came from – whether it was a PPC ad, a Web page, or an article.

So – how do you put in a tracking code?

I’ll give you two methods. There are more but these are the easiest.

The first is to include the tracking code in your affiliate link. Many affiliate sites like Clickbank make it easy to do.

For a clickbank product that you are promoting on your Blog, you would use maybe BLOG for your tracking code so it would appear like this:

PUT in the http here – -:// your complete affiliate URL, then at the end add ?tid=BLOG

Where your affiliate name is YOUR affiliate ID and the product name is the name of the product. When someone clicks on the link, the Tracking ID, BLOG, is passed through to the Clickbank reporting system so you can easily tell where the sale came from.

A little more complex is passing tracking codes through a website. It only takes one line of extra code. All you have to do is copy and paste from this and customize it for your site:

Add this bit of code at the very first of you page – before any html:

then php $seedvar=$_GET['id'];?>

Leave out the spaces. They are included here so that the code is not “live”.

That’s all it takes to pass a tracking code through your webpage. Now – there’s a couple of things you need to know to make this work.

First, when you are sending someone to the page from an ad or a banner or link, you have to put the full page URL like: http:://www.mysite.com/index.php?id=123

The page that you are sending the prospect to has to be saved as a php file. So, if it’s an index.html file, just save it as an index.php file but include the snippet of code above. In this example, the Tracking ID of 123 will be passed to the page.

Here’s the next part: The links on your page are a little different. The links will look like this:

When someone clicks on the link, they are directed to the affiliate product landing page BUT NOW there is also a tracking ID sent with them. That’s about all there is to it. 

Using tracking ID’s takes a little extra time but it’s well worth it to maximize your returns on all of your affiliate marketing.
